CONCLUDING OUR TEN-YEAR BUILDING PLAN
If watching the high school campus and hall grow little by little each day hasn’t gotten you excited about the future of our small school, then perhaps the information below will do the job.
The construction of the school hall and high school marks the culmination of an ambitious, decade-long building plan that, barring a few bumps along the way, has run entirely according to plan.
In 2020, our high school learners will have a beautiful new campus on which to continue their schooling journey while the school as a whole will finally will be able to host assemblies and productions in our own hall; all in time for our ten-year celebrations.
Some features of the new addition to our campus include:
- basement parking level that will allow for suitably qualified learners to bring their cars or bikes to school while also alleviating parking congestion that can occur during large events;
- unique ampitheatre adjacent to the hall which can be used for smaller, intimate events such as dramatic performances, local music or public speaking;
- large soccer field with access to further alleviate parking congestion during events;
- specialist classrooms such as the computer centre and science lab;
- learner canteen;
- and a 700 seater hall with lobby and catering facilities.
It is with awe, pride and deep gratitude that I look back on the development of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite School over the years. As a community of educators, parents, learners, families and clergy, we have managed to build an excellent academic institution that also serves as a beautiful landmark in Johannesburg South.
